Jess Meyberg just wants everyone to have fun. For this warm-hearted, enthusiastic teen, leadership is about inclusion. Famous for her off-beat events appealing to every kind of Jewish teen, Jess knows firsthand just how painful it is to be left out of the crowd. Her top tip for new leaders? Make sure everyone feels welcome and has a good time. No matter what.

The thrill of taking the reins of an event and making it fun, exciting, and accessible to new teens is what excites Jess most about being a leader. That and getting to hang with others who are truly interested in sharing Jewish pride.

Always in the mood for a good challenge, Jess hit the road last fall in a Sukkot-themed party bus that gave teens in her chapter the chance to experience this awesome holiday in different sukkahs around town―and make some miniatures of their own. Think marshmallow fluff, graham crackers, and twizzlers. It was delicious.

This summer, Jess is eager to explore her roots in Israel on Cteen’s newest summer adventure, Israel Journey. Looking back, her greatest achievement so far has been helping her chapter grow―getting more teens involved in everything Cteen has to offer. Stepping into the role of a leader also gave her the rare chance to get to know her Rabbi and Rebbetzin as people, not just spiritual leaders and teachers. In her own words, “they are literally the best!”
